About this guide

London Buyers Agent is a London, Ontario guide for buyers who need representation settled before they tour, because the listing agent represents the seller once retained.

A buyer with no written representation is a self-represented party. They can still buy. They do not get advice, opinion, or advocacy from the seller's agent. A self-represented party is not a client.

Designated representation names one person. The brokerage remains responsible for supervision. Brokerage representation names the firm. A buyer who wants representation needs a registrant of the Real Estate Council of Ontario. The provincial law on the buyer's side of the file is the Trust in Real Estate Services Act (TRESA). Key changes took effect on 1 December 2023, which is why a tour should wait for a written agreement. The consumer page is RECO's guide to signing a contract with a real estate brokerage.

Besides the price, an offer still has to settle the deposit, the closing day, inclusions, and conditions such as inspection and financing. This guide does not say which offer wins. Byron, Masonville, and Pond Mills are not ranked. Those pages use City and library sources. The London Plan does not map definitive neighbourhood boundaries.

Read before you tour for the status. Read the offer for the terms besides the price. Read neighbourhoods for the three place pages.
